Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, Book 1)
It's not quite immortal instruments as I found myself trying to match the people I knew from those books to this period. After I had got passed this and concentrated on the story I did enjoy it. Will is very like Jace with the suffering hero and how can you not feel for James. I didn't feel for the the MC like Clary but there was still interest that made me read within days.
